For a code such as a letter-number-letter, hold it as three positions rather than one sound. Quietly tag the pattern—L-N-L, N-L, or L-L-N-N—then compare only alternatives with the same structure and length. This eliminates distractors before detailed checking.

Similar options are designed to demand precision. A pair may contain the same characters in a different order, one character substituted, or a letter that resembles a number. Always sweep from the first position to the last.

Use a three-pass drill

Do not repeatedly practice only at an impossible speed. The productive edge is the fastest pace at which your comparison method still works. Short daily sessions are better than one long session that trains careless guesses.

1. Accuracy pass: work slowly and name every position before choosing.
2. Paced pass: use a steady interval and mark an answer without pausing the stream.
3. Pressure pass: shorten the interval until errors rise, then return one level slower and stabilize.

Classify every code error
